No Account Required

Crescendo works without creating an account. All your practice data stays on your device—we have no servers, no cloud storage, and no way to access your information.

Privacy by Design

Your data stays on your device. Always.

No account No email No tracking Works offline

Why No Account?

We designed Crescendo to be a practice tool you truly own. No login credentials to remember, no password to forget, no account to get compromised. You download the app and start practicing immediately.

Start Immediately

No signup forms, no email verification, no waiting. Open the app and begin practicing in seconds.

Nothing to Compromise

No password means no password to leak. No account means no account to hack. Your data can't be breached because we don't have it.

No Spam

No email address collected means no newsletters, no marketing emails, no "we miss you" messages. Just practice.

Family-Friendly

Children can practice without parental email verification. No personal information collected from any user, of any age.

What Data Stays on Your Device

Everything you do in Crescendo is stored in your device's private app storage. This data never leaves your phone or tablet.

Practice Data

  • Practice sessions (when you practiced, which pieces, how long)
  • Progress statistics (time practiced per piece, weekly totals)
  • Fingering annotations you've added to scores
  • A-B loop points you've set for sections

Your Music Library

  • Imported sheet music files (MusicXML, MIDI, LilyPond, PDF)
  • Piece metadata (title, composer, key, duration)
  • Folder organization you've created

App Settings

  • Display preferences (theme, zoom level, scroll mode)
  • Practice preferences (tempo, hand mode, metronome settings)
  • MIDI keyboard settings

We cannot access this data. It's stored in your device's private app storage, protected by your phone's security. We have no servers, no cloud storage, and no technical way to retrieve it.

What We Don't Collect

Unlike most apps, Crescendo has no analytics, no tracking, and no data collection. Here's what we explicitly don't do:

No email collection
No analytics tracking
No crash reporting
No device fingerprinting
No advertising IDs
No third-party SDKs

The only time Crescendo communicates over the network is when you choose to: downloading sample pieces from the Discover catalog, importing music from a URL, or contacting support through the app. None of these actions transmit personal data.

Works Completely Offline

After you download Crescendo, you never need an internet connection to use it. Import your music, disconnect from the internet, and practice anywhere—on a plane, at a cabin, wherever you have your keyboard.

There's no "license check" that requires periodic internet access. If our company disappeared tomorrow, your app would continue working exactly as it does today. Your music files are in standard formats (MusicXML, MIDI)—they're yours to keep and use anywhere.

For Parents & Families

Crescendo's no-account design makes it suitable for learners of all ages. Because we don't collect personal information—not even an email address—there's no data to worry about.

Family Sharing: Multiple family members can use Crescendo on their own devices through iOS Family Sharing or Google Play Family Library. Each person's practice data stays separate on their own device.

Children can practice without parental email verification or account creation. Their practice sessions, statistics, and music library stay on the family device—visible only to whoever has access to that device.

What About Future Features?

We're planning to add optional community features in the future—cloud backup, device syncing, and ways to connect with other learners. These features will require an account.

Always optional. If you prefer to keep everything local and private, you'll always be able to use Crescendo exactly as it works today. Core practice functionality will never require an account.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sync my progress between devices?

Currently, your practice data stays on the device where you created it. We're planning to add optional cloud sync in a future update for users who want this feature.

For now, you can use your phone's built-in backup feature (iCloud Backup for iOS, Google Backup for Android) which may include app data. Your sheet music files can always be re-imported.

What if I lose my phone?

If you have device backups enabled (iCloud or Google Backup), your practice data may be included in the backup and can be restored to your new device.

If you don't have a backup, you would start fresh—but your sheet music files can always be re-imported, and you'd simply build up new practice history. Your purchase remains linked to your app store account and can be restored on any device.

What happens to my data if I delete the app?

All practice data is deleted when you uninstall the app. There's no server copy—it exists only on your device. If you reinstall later, you'll start with a fresh library and no practice history.

How do I delete my data without deleting the app?

Go to Settings > Data > Clear All Data in the app. This removes all practice history, statistics, library entries, and settings. Your imported music files would need to be re-imported afterward.

Will you ever require an account?

Never for core practice functionality. Crescendo will always work fully offline without an account.

We're planning to add optional community features in the future—things like cloud backup, syncing between devices, and connecting with other learners. These features will require an account, but they'll be entirely opt-in.

If you prefer to keep everything local and private, you'll always be able to use Crescendo exactly as it works today.

How does the contact form work without accounts?

When you contact support through the app, you provide your email address so we can reply. This is sent directly to our support inbox and isn't stored in any database or linked to your app usage. We only have what you explicitly send us.

Why did you choose this approach?

We wanted to build a practice tool that feels like something you own, not something you rent. A one-time purchase with local storage was the simplest way to achieve that.

No subscription means no account needed to verify payment. Local storage means your practice data belongs to you. It's a straightforward model that keeps things simple for everyone.
