This policy explains how Crescendo Piano LLC ("Crescendo," "we," or "us") handles information in the public Crescendo website, its browser games, and the currently released Crescendo Piano Android app. It does not describe unreleased development builds.
"Personal information" in this policy means information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked with a person or device. Local practice data can be personal even when it never leaves your device.
The website uses browser local storage for practice-game progress and preferences, including theme, score-preview tempo, and score-view direction. Browser games can request access to a MIDI device through your browser. MIDI input used by a browser game is processed in the page and is not sent to Crescendo by the game code. You can remove this information with your browser's site-data controls.
Loading any website sends ordinary request information to its hosting and security providers, such as your IP address, browser or user-agent information, requested page, and request time. This information is used to deliver the site, maintain reliability, and prevent abuse. Crescendo's site code does not set analytics or advertising cookies. The delivery and security layer may set strictly necessary Cloudflare cookies when a security or rate-limiting feature requires them.
When the hosted site is access-restricted, the hosting provider may also require its own sign-in and process account and session information under its policies. That provider sign-in controls access to the hosted site; it is not a Crescendo account.
The current website's contact links open your email application; the site does not submit a contact form. If you email us, we receive the address, message, attachments, and mail metadata that you and your email provider send. Please do not include information you do not want us to receive.
The released Android app stores the information needed to provide its features locally. Depending on the features you use, that can include:
Microphone access is optional and requires Android permission. When you select microphone input, the released app captures short audio buffers and performs pitch detection on the device. Crescendo does not upload or retain microphone recordings on its servers. MIDI note input is likewise processed for practice feedback on the device.
The Android manifest opts out of Android cloud backup. Android documentation notes that device-to-device transfer behavior can still vary by Android version and device manufacturer. Files you deliberately export, share, or copy are controlled by the destination you choose and are not deleted when you remove the app's local copy.
The Android app uses the network only for features that need it. Discover retrieves a catalog and selected music files. Import from URL contacts the address you provide and may follow redirects. Those servers receive ordinary network request information, including your IP address, under their own privacy practices. Do not import a private or access-controlled URL unless you understand what the destination service will receive.
Google Play handles app distribution and payment. Google may provide Crescendo with purchase, license, device, and transaction information under Google Play's terms; Crescendo does not receive your full payment-card number from the app.
The released Android app includes Google Analytics for Firebase. It sets analytics storage, ad storage, ad user data, and ad personalization to denied by default, but it does not block the Analytics SDK from loading before the consent choice. Under Google's advanced Consent Mode behavior, an active SDK with denied analytics storage can send consent state and events or pings without device or user identifiers for basic measurement and modeling. Those signals still reach Google over the network, so Google receives an IP address in transit. Google says raw-IP use varies by region and settings; where raw IP is used for basic service functions or coarse location, it is then discarded, and encrypted IP can flow to a linked Google Ads account if that integration is configured.
If you enable analytics, the app permits full Analytics measurement, including a generated app-instance identifier and the custom events described below. Advertising-ID collection is disabled in the Android manifest, and ad storage, ad user data, and ad-personalization consent remain denied.

The event code does not send imported score files, score titles, raw microphone audio, or note-by-note MIDI input to Analytics. When consent permits identifiers, those identifiers are pseudonymous device or installation identifiers, not a promise that the data is anonymous in every legal or technical sense.
You can change your choice in the app's Data settings. Declining or turning analytics off asks the SDK to disable future collection; revocation also resets Analytics data stored on that device. It does not by itself erase events already received by Google. Because the current app has no account, we may be unable to match an email address to a pseudonymous Analytics record.
For help with information held by Crescendo or its processors, email privacy@crescendopiano.app. We may need enough information to understand and verify a request. Purely local data is under your control and is not available for us to retrieve.
Crescendo is a general music-practice product. The current product does not ask for a name, email address, birth date, or account during normal use. A parent or guardian should supervise a child's use, decide whether full analytics should be enabled, and control any support email the child sends.
If you believe we received personal information from a child in a way that requires review or deletion, contact privacy@crescendopiano.app. We will assess the specific facts rather than claiming that this policy alone establishes compliance with every children's-privacy law.
Your direct controls include declining or disabling Android analytics, denying microphone or MIDI permissions, deleting app content or history, clearing browser site data, and choosing whether to send an email or use a network import.
Depending on where you live, law may provide rights to know, access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of certain personal information, and to appeal a denied request. Email us to exercise an applicable right. We will not discriminate against you for making a privacy request, and we may limit or deny a request where law permits.
The current website and released Android app do not provide Crescendo accounts or cloud synchronization. This version of the policy does not describe or authorize account-data collection or automatic cloud upload. Before a future account or sync feature begins collecting data, we will publish an updated notice that explains the data, purpose, retention, deletion, and user controls.
We may update this policy when the product or law changes. The current version remains at /privacy, and dated versions remain available in the legal archive. Material changes will receive additional notice where appropriate.
